Cron jobs allow you to automate the execution of certain commands or scripts on your server to perform repetitive tasks automatically.
It allows you to run a certain command at a time of your choice: for example, you can set up a scheduled job that deletes temporary files weekly to save disk space.
- Click on "Task Scheduler".
- Cron Job is an automatic task generator. For example, you may need to send all your customers an email on Monday at 12:00 every week. By setting up a cron job in your account, it will send the emails automatically.
- There are two ways to do this, standard and advanced. Select advanced only if you have advanced knowledge. In this tutorial we will choose Standard
- Click on "Standard".
- Enter an e-mail address to which you want the Cron job results to be sent.
- For this example we are going to run a script called "clients.cgi" which is located in the cgi-bin directory of this account
- Enter the time and date on which the Cron job will be executed
- Click on "Add new Cron job".
